One
of the Shockers multi-talented athletes,
Combs has played tight end, defensive end
and outside linebacker in his Shocker
career. He was utilized as a lead
blocker in the 2006 PNFC championships final
drive paving the way for a near Shocker
upset of #1 ranked Seattle. In 2007
Combs found himself loose in defensive
backfields as safeties tried to account for
the Shockers outstanding receivers.
Combs concentrated on defense for the 2008
season and had his best season defensively
nearly doubling his sack total from the
previous two seasons. Dave had his
worst statistical showing defensively in
2009 and was limited in action. Look
for Combs to rebound in 2010 with an
increased role with the departure of Ron
Strozyk.
