"original" Shocker, Kelly rarely
misses a practice or team event (earning the
2006 Coaches Award) and is always in the
right place at the right time. Raw
ability and a powerful body make this Samoan
Smasher another linebacker opposing offenses
have to plan around. Suffered a severe
shoulder injury in 2005 on the seasons'
highlight hit which required surgery.
Reconstruction and rehab brought Kelly back
to full speed for the 2006 season where he
learned from collegiate 'backers Enciso and
Puz. One of the few Shocker
linebackers to not attend a 4-year college,
Kelly has a work ethic and raw ability that
demands he be on the field as much as
possible. Missed much of 2007 due to
work obligations, but will again be a force
in his fourth season as a Shocker.
Father of four, Kelly is married to Shawnte
and coached the defense of the Tacoma
Warriors 7th Graders to the Eastside Boys
& Girls Club 2007 Championship.
