Micah
matched the #2 all-time national record for
interception returns for touchdowns in a
season with 4, adding a 5th TD on a fumble
return in the PNFC playoffs. He set a
new team and PNFC record with 11
interceptions on the season. The
2006 Shocker Team MVP for his performance as
the starting corner opposite Ryan Kalalau
and as the top yardage gainer on special
teams returns (20 returns 442 yds 2 TD's),
passed the return torch to Bobby Poeltl who
set records of his own. Micah was
hampered by a knee sprain during his record
setting season where he swept
All-Conference, All-Region, and All-America
first team honors. Tanaka is tough in coverage and an excellent
recognition man. Former Defensive
Coordinator at Foss High, Micah was a
standout player for the Loggers of UPS in
three years as a starter. Played his
high school ball at Punahou High on the
island of Oahu.
